Karin Guild, Founder Certified Garden Consultant

Hi!
My name is Karin Guild.

I am the proud founder & owner of Yard To Table, an edible garden & modern homestead design & installation company in the San Francisco Bay Area. As a Marin Master Gardener, a member of the Garden Coach Society, and a certified Garden Coach & Designer, I have a wealth of knowledge & help clients create a garden they will truly love. I truly believe that everyone has the ability to cultivate their own modern homestead, a space to grow nutritious food!

I am a wife, mother of three, and suburban homesteader.  I have been a vegetarian for over 30 years and making plant-based meals was my initial inspiration to start growing my own food and I have been growing vegetables and gardening to some extent ever since then.  I then became a backyard chicken farmer ten years ago.

My path to becoming an edible garden designer and coach was a long one and at 50 years old I can say that I have found my life’s calling!  What started out as a childhood dream job fantasy has turned into a business.

I have an MS in Comunicative Disorders and have worked as a part-time speech-pathologist for the past 20 years while raising my children. My life changed dramatically when I was diagnosed with Invasive Breast Cancer and my healing journey was the life-changing impetus I needed to transform my life.  After regaining my health I had a deep yearning to live in a slower, healthier, more intentional & sustainable way.  Since then, our family has been focusing on simple-living while creating a modern homestead here in Marin County - growing our own organic food, raising chickens, beekeeping, cooking healthy plant-based meals, connecting with nature every day, and doing our best to tread lightly on the earth.

I started this business with a desire to share these transformative changes with others through creating edible gardens. I am inspired to help others improve their lives through reconnecting with the rhythms of nature in the garden.

Are you interested in living a healthier, more meaningful & sustainable life? Send me a text, email, or give me a call.  I would love to connect with you!

What Grows Here is More Than Food

Our clients come to us with a vision—sometimes it’s to grow their own tomatoes and basil, sometimes it’s to ditch the thirsty lawn and do something more sustainable. Whether it’s about health, flavor, self-sufficiency, or reconnecting with the natural world, these gardens become more than just pretty spaces. They’re functional, fruitful, and deeply personal. But don’t just take our word for it—check out some of our recent projects.

I can’t say enough good things about Karin and her incredible gardening company, Yard to Table! From start to finish, she poured her heart into designing and building my new garden. She took care of everything—from picking out vegetables that are perfect for my weather and growing zone, to building four beautiful garden beds, installing a sturdy and stylish garden fence, and making the entire space feel like a little sanctuary in my yard."
